The Riffs. Code. Community. is finally here.

I'm building something really cool for this newsletter. Keep reading to find out more!

Before I update you, have you been watching Severance Season 2?! My fiance and I are absolutely obsessed.

Don’t worry, no spoilers in this article. However, if you’d like to talk theories, hit me up on social media!

Riffs. Code. Community.

I talk a lot about community in this newsletter. My belief is that building a community is just as beneficial for the creator as it is the supporter/subscriber/fan/follower etc. As a creator, it is our job to provide some form of value to our supporters if we want to see any growth from our platform. You know that saying “if you build it, they will come” ? It applies here.

The more value you can provide your audience, the more audience you will be able to provide value to.

Authenticity is another great reason behind building a community as a creator. For example, I enjoy reading & replying to your comments, email responses, and getting to know you, the reader. It’s super cool to know who is reading this newsletter, and if there is anything I can do to give you more valuable content, I’m all ears.

That being said — I am pleased to announce the Riffs Code Community.

The Tech Behind the Community

Riffs. Code. Community. is built using my favorite framework, Astro.js. In order to manage the content, I am using Contentful’s content API to access my database of songs, tech, and anything else I can conjure up to post on this app.

I am also using Beehiiv’s API to pull in the most recent newsletter posts, as well as allowing new readers to subscribe (which btw, tell a friend about the newsletter! it really helps!)

This web app is a work in progress, so I’ll be sure to update you as more features get added. If you have any ideas or feedback, I’d love to hear them! My goal is to make this community the best it possibly can for the Riffs. Code. Coffee. readers.

Other Updates

I’m producing & mixing records professionally again.

Yep! I’m currently booking for production and mixing for spring 2025. After giving it some thought, I felt that realigning my business to work closer with creatives was top priority for me. That being said, I now offer pro audio services along side my web development services.

So if you’re in a band and looking for a producer, mix engineer (or developer), email or DM me!

Social Media

I’ve made some tweaks to my social media platforms. I now have a professional instagram account, @papsaudio, which you can find by clicking the IG icon on this post.

If that doesn’t work for some reason, here is my linktree.

My band is in the studio

Homesick Highway started guitar tracking last week with our good friend and producer David Winters. I’m not personally a fan of engineering my band’s music because it pulls me out of the creative flow as an artist, so this arrangement has been fantastic. Expect music from us very soon!

The Official Riffs. Code. Coffee. Playlist

Brewed fresh every Friday, this playlist is accessible on Apple Music, as well as the Riffs. Code. Community.

Phew. That’s a lot of updates. I hope you are as excited for this community as I am. And I can’t wait to continue building this newsletter with you in 2025! Have a great Wednesday, and I’ll see ya Friday!

Do what you love. It’s easy.

Paps.
