Weekly Pull Request
What are you sipping on this morning?
Happy Friday! It’s time for the Weekly Pull Request. This article is packed with cool music, tech, and other interesting things I’ve come across throughout the week.

Riffs/Shows
This Past Weekend w/ Theo Von feat. Mark Cuban
Theo’s podcast is one of my favorites. It’s funny, insightful, and honestly some wholesome, down to earth goodness. I enjoyed Mark’s energy on this episode so much. Fair warning, this does get briefly political, but I enjoyed Mark and Theo’s takes on the toxic shit-storm that American Politics is.
Don’t let that deter you from the rest of the show though. Theo has this energy about him that is infectious, and brings out the absolute best in his guests. Highly recommend.
The Game w/ Alex Hormozi
I’ve been seeing this guy all over social media, and wanted to give his podcast a shot. As a new business owner myself, I’m constantly trying to improve and find new ways to provide more value to my clients. I listened to some of Alex’s most recent content and it was pretty thoughtful and inspiring. I’m sure there are other creators out there that teach the same material worded differently. But the way Alex said his piece stuck with me and I got something out of it.
If you’re a content creator or business owner, I highly recommend giving this one a chance.
…And Everything in Between - Unprocessed
Spinning this record again has been a real treat. This band is so talented, and the sound design on this record is top notch. Oh, and did I mention the fact that the instrumentals are absolutely insane?! Yeah, this one is for my guitar nerds. If you’re into Polyphia and heavier music, definitely give this one a listen.
Tech
Logic Pro
I made the switch back to Logic Pro this week for production and mixing. I’ve tried just about every DAW under the sun, but for some reason, this one pulls me back every time.
Past clients I’ve worked with know that I’ve been using Studio One for quite some time and really enjoyed it from a mixing standpoint. However, most of my work starts with production/songwriting and I found that all of tools and stuff got in the way of me just sitting down and creating. I think most of it is the fact that I have shiny object syndrome and end up diving into menus rather than writing, and Logic Pro helps me mitigate that.
Similarly, I love the simplicity of Logic. The stock plugin suite is pretty darn good, and the ability to start a project on my iPad and finish it on my Mac is awesome.
Last important note is the subscription model BS. Ever since Fender took over PreSonus, I’m not a fan of the whole SaaS thing. Apple was a one and done, and I get all updates moving forward. I was spending yearly more than the one-time cost of Logic for Studio One, for pretty much the same feature set.
PreSonus has done some amazing work on Studio One, but it’s time to sunset my time with it and head back to basics.
Coffee
I’m not going to act like I’m a coffee snob. I am just a regular guy who likes a decent cup of coffee. ☕️
Lately, my fiance and I have been running on Starbucks Pike Place Roast. Nothing super interesting, but it tastes good and gets the job done.
That’s all for this week’s pull request. Let’s go ahead and merge this to main. I hope you have an amazing weekend!
